“Men in Black” star Will Smith backs higher taxes…until he hears France’s proposed rate! Rob Houglum LLMedia Tuesday, May 15, 2012
Will Smith has been a vocal advocate of Barack Obama and his plan to extend taxes on the welathy, but during a trip to France he was asked if he would support a 75 percent taxation rate precisely what is being proposed by new Socialist President of France.
Business Insider explains, "The Hollywood star enthusiastically preached the gospel of paying one's fair share of taxes in a French television interview this weekend."
"But when asked about his opinion on the tax policy of French president-elect Franois Hollande, Smith's was surprised silly by the recommendation of a seventy five % tax level on those earning above 1,000,000 annually," reported BI's Alex Biles.
"I have no problem with Will Smith," Glenn declared at the start of the video.
Glenn explained that Smith shares the same opinion as many in Hollywood that the rich have to pay more in taxes.
In the interview, Smith responds with a "God Bless America" and a giggle on hearing President-elect Hollande's proposed rate of 75 percent.
"You can see the actual shock of that number," Stu recounted. "( Smith ) isn't a tax expert in EU economics. It strikes him as surprising as it should strike you."
